Peace and quiet on Earth

Goaway942Personally I’m a bit take it or leave it about Christmas. Best bit by far is the workshop party which is promising to be more elaborate and crowded than ever, this year it’s themed around Woodstock, the Summer of Love and all things hippy. I’ve have my dancing shoes, wig and outfit laid out and ready to go, and this time round I’m intending to remain reasonably sober!

I caught a supermarket ad (Lidl ? ) for nut roast on the box last night showing the usual shiny idealised family raising  a turkey throughout the year for the ‘festive’ season then becoming so attached to the bird it was head of the table rather than centre.  A clever bit of  ‘feel good’ brand marketing but like most ads so very sadly  miles away from reality and more about fantasy.  If they had shown the industrial processed slaughter  they would sell far more nut roasts but less of everything else.

The quote is from Paul McCartney, the photo was taken at the South of England Agricultural show this summer.
